
In The Delicious Life, it’s called Black Friday because the only thing I want to eat is…nothing. Or maybe a little candied ginger to help with digestion.
Candied Ginger Recipe
Candied Ginger Ingredients
fresh ginger
water
sugar
Candied Ginger Directions
Peel and cut ginger into 1/8-inch thick slices.
In a saucepan, simmer ginger in plain water for approximately 10 minutes. Drain and return ginger to saucepan.
Add equal parts water and sugar (simple syrup) to cover ginger by 1 inch. Bring to simmer and cook until syrup reaches 225 degrees.
Remove from heat and let ginger cool in the syrup. Once cool drain and spread individually on cooling rack or sugar dusted sheet pan. Let dry over night, flip over and leave out until dry.
Keep in air tight container.
