Putting the F-U in Tofu – The Delicious Daily 01.26.2010

Tofu, Medium Firm

Some day the entire world will understand the simple, supple beauty of the ‘fu.

I eat mine cold, raw, with nothing but a splash of soy sauce, hot sauce, and nori komi furikake.

Love it with some pickled ginger, a bit of soy and furikake sprinkled on top. My niece & nephews eat it daily with RANCH DRESSING! It actually tastes okay… but not my style.

MyLastBite: Plain tofu with RANCH dressing?! I could get down with Green Goddess because that just *sounds* healthy, but ranch? That sounds…wait. Hm. Maybe I should try it….

I love mine with some kimchi!! Oh how I devour it that way. Have you ever deep fried it? And then you serve it with sweet & sour sauce.

I love it with shoyu, green onions, bonito and hot sauce. Though, if I get lazy, it’s just shoyu and hot sauce. No cutting needed. =D

I buy my tofu pre-marinated and already baked so I don’t have to squeeze any of the excess liquid out. The teriyaki flavor from Trader Joe’s is my go-to product for lazy days.

Pan-seared in EVOO, eaten with a little salt and lemon juice. Yum :)

And chopped up with the side of a spatula, served next to my veggie sausage as a “scrambled egg” subsitute. Pinch of salt = easy protein at breakfast and so yummy! Throw in a few peppers and onions and it is sooo good.

Ooh! Pan-fried with multiple dried red chilies, throw in a couple tablespoons of soy sauce and minced garlic and ginger in the last 30 seconds of cooking. Christ Christmas, I could eat this hot or cold, morning or night, every day for the rest of my life.
